4 Easy Camping Meals For Solo Adventurers

Mastering the Art of Campfire Cooking: Accessories and Techniques for Gourmet Meals

If we put it into perspective, solo camping is just as fun and adventurous as group camping. A recent study also found that many people are more productive when they work alone. And it is for this reason that many camping experts believe that camping alone is more rewarding and, most importantly, provides campers with new experiences.

Also, solo camping may be the way to go if you enjoy camping and want to disconnect from your daily stresses and instead connect with nature.

Another significant benefit of solo camping is that, when you consider the stress involved in planning a camping trip with other people, you will probably realize that going solo is the best decision you will ever make.

If you’re going on a camping trip alone, the last thing you want to worry about is a food shortage or a lack of quality camping food. Imagine going hiking or fishing all day, and on returning to your tent, you are stuck with hot dogs and other junk foods. That may adversely affect your health even if you don’t know it.

Therefore, as fellow camping enthusiasts, we have dug deep into our recipe armory to bring some of the best quick and easy camping meals.

So, sit back and read on.

Campfire Stew

After a long time out in the cold skiing or climbing mountains, you will want to eat something hot to warm up your body, and this is where hot stew comes in.

As you go out every day on your own to enjoy the beautiful scenery of nature, your body will be exposed to the harsh cold. Therefore, you must always take something warm to prevent your body from developing cold-related infections such as pneumonia.

A camp stew is just like the regular soup you cook in the house. The only difference is that you will eat your camp stew when you prepare it to ensure that it doesn’t lose its hot temperature. Campfire Stew is particularly good for solo campers who camp during the winter or spring.

On average, it takes about one hour to prepare a camp stew, and you will need ingredients such as potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, butter, and the most obvious one, water.

Mac And Cheese

The process that is involved in the preparation of camp Mac and cheese is very simple. You need seven ingredients: garlic powder, crumbled potato chips, pasta, water, milk, olive oil, and other toppings. And if you want to spice up your Mac and cheese, we recommend that you cook it in a Dutch oven.

“But why over a Dutch oven?” Well, I am glad that you asked.

Unlike a regular oven, a Dutch oven will apply heat from the bottom and top. This will then allow the pasta to steam instead of getting boiled. And as you already know, well-steamed pasta is simply the best.

Averagely, it takes about 15-20 minutes to prepare Mac and Cheese.

Breakfast Sandwich

Another high-quality and easy-to-make food that you can eat while camping solo is a breakfast sandwich. In preparing this meal, you should prepare sausage patties, eggs, a griddle, and a hot-honey sauce.

This food is one of the best things to eat in the morning. They are not too light, nor are they too solid. And most importantly, they are very easy to make. All you have to do is place the sauce patties you have already stored in the cooler on the griddle. Then add other toppings, such as fried eggs and your hot-honey sauce.

And just like that, you have just prepared a tasty breakfast sandwich with little effort!

Lemon Fish Foil Pack

While camping solo, you can do many interesting things to keep your stress level down. For example, you can climb mountains, go skiing, or go for a hike. However, if some of these are too tedious for you, you should probably go fishing.

Then, after you are done fishing, you make one quick and nutritious camping meal, a lemon fish foil.

On average, this meal should take just about 10 to 20 minutes. You will need ingredients, including sliced lemons, fish fillets, butter in cubes, dried oregano, garnish, garlic cloves, and honey.

If you have all these ingredients already and don’t know how to prepare the meal, don’t fret. We will walk you through it.

In preparing the fish, you must either catch or buy “fresh” fish fillets first. Then, the fillet is seasoned with garlic, honey, and oregano. Also, while at it, don’t forget to add those butter cubes around the fish. When you are done putting in the toppings, proceed to seal up the packets tightly.

And lastly, place it on the fire and cook it for about 10 to 20 minutes.

Conclusion

Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t be a good chef while camping solo. The best time to try different recipes is when you are in the world all on your own.
